Wisconsin apparel brand's September release lands as states and lawmakers reconsider automated license plate reader programs
WISCONSIN - September 19, 2026 - Gadsden Productions, a Wisconsin-based apparel and home goods company owned by Brayden Myer, released its Stop Mass Surveillance Baseball Cap this month, as automated license plate readers face growing scrutiny from state officials, courts, and communities nationwide. The cap is sold online at shop.gadsdenproductions.us and is the company's latest release in a monthly product series.
The release lands amid a wave of new attention to automated license plate readers, also called ALPR systems, which log vehicle movements for police departments nationwide. A Washington Post investigation published in August found at least 50 U.S. law enforcement officers have been charged or accused of misusing the systems, including 26 cases in which officers tracked the locations of wives, girlfriends, or former partners. Wisconsin has at least 221 police departments using the technology, according to reporting by Law360.
“People need to fight against mass surveillance to ensure the government is not intruding on their private lives as Americans,” said Brayden Myer, owner of Gadsden Productions. “This goes directly against what our founding fathers set up to form a free nation.”
The cap’s front carries a vintage-style patch reading “STOP MASS SURVEILLANCE,” rendered in bold red bars around a crossed-out camera icon. It’s built on a five-panel silhouette, available in white in one adult size, and priced at $27.99.
The cap is made in the United States. Care instructions call for spot cleaning with warm water and dish soap, using a soft-bristled brush on stubborn areas rather than soaking the cap.
